Well I gave up on trying to add USB to my VS440FX due to lack of documentation. However I have a PR440FX now! I'm about to pick up some compaq 256MB buffered DIMMs from ebay and see if they report full capacity. Full circle!

Same here, 1 GB is working flawlessly using compaq branded 256 EDO Dimms.
