hi i hope someone can help me? i m trying to play indy jones foa.
will open up to config page and when i click play i egt illegal instruction message then thats it i have put dosbox on but dont know how to mount
any help would be the dogs back wheels

Hop over to http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/ and grab a download of ScummVM.
The readme tells you how to mount, it works just fine in dosbox.

I wasn't implying it didn't... for a newbie, it is somewhat easier under ScummVM however.
Well if the next game is keen he wants to play...
got scumm but that does not seem to find the game or i am not looking in the right place. could you give me the idiot guide to dosbox or scumm

You have to point scummvm to the directory where indy4 is.
Maybe post a file listing of your indy directory here.
in the scumm it shows all other games and programs except indy?
i am quite a novice at this so anyhelp is thankful

The indy4 directory should have files like atlantis.000/atlantis.001,
an exe file and some .ims files, check that they're present.

Like when you have a
c:\oldgames\indy4
then check that directory what files are present.
If ScummVM does not see the game, even after directing it to the game's folder, could it be that it is a modified game? I believe that ScummVM identifies games by the MD5.
Or it's still packed or something...

You don't need Dosbox, only ScummVM. There is a Readme file included, when you install the program; this should help you get the game running.
If you have further problems you should ask in the forum of Scummvm (http://forums.scummvm.org) and not here!
