Where can I get 512MB stick supposedly laptop version of RAM but not SO-DIMM only SIDMM, I'm trying to upgrade my HP T5700 from 256MB but any SO-DIMM I have do not fit unfortunately.

Do you have a picture of the one you have ?
I cant find anything about SIDIMM .. perhaps its a DDR2 DIMM or some propriety HP Dimm.
Looking at this site https://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/hp/t5700/ that model comes with PC2100 DDR SODIMM memory so to upgrade it you would need to buy DDR SODIMM modules, there are plenty on eBay. (PC2100 is the fastest speed supported by your machine)

Yup that new stick is DDR2.
EDIT: I feel dumb now, I tried to put DDR2 in DDR1 slot. 😁

A very easy mistake since not a lot changed between the layout of DDR1 and DDR2 SODIMMs, that little slot moved over by one pin so its easy to mistake them at a glance and get confused why it doesnt fit.
Good I didn't try to push there laptop sized SDRAMs. 😁
