I have found a (to me) unknown 3D design that intrigues me.
It has similarities to the #9 T2R architecture and was used in the AVID EDC4 card.
This card number was also used with the #9 T2R chipset.

The main difference between these cards is that the Peritek Borealis 3D card uses SDRAM and has no external RAMDAC.
Other embedded versions of the Borealis 3D chip came with 100 MHz SGRAM (synchronous to the GPU).

26/32 MB Memory (SDRAM or SGRAM)
250 MHz RAMDAC
100 MHz clock
8K of texture cache
430 MFlop/s setupu engine
128 bit memory interface
32 bit Z-buffer
OpenGL 1.1
DirectX 7

I have found 2 nearly identical variants of the AVID EDC4 with one having the T2R IV and the other having the Borealis 3D.

I think it is safe to say that the "Borealis 3D" is actually a "#9 T2R IV".

it's the exact same specs and even the exact same "Block Diagram" included in #9 PDF file "T2riv.pdf" (attached) with their "Number Nine Ticket to Ride IV (Revolution IV)" specification and key features.

So, it has to be some flavor of "Number Nine Ticket to Ride IV (Revolution IV)", if not 100% identical.

[EDIT] even the EEPROM chip with the Video BIOS has exact same sticker between the card with #9 and Peritek - I found higher res pic of the card with Peritek - attached.

another great find of those documents, for me most important line in those PDFs is:

Borealis 2D/3D
Vendor ID 0x105D
Device ID 0x5348

or in other words absolute proof and confirmation Borealis 2D/3D is just #9 "T2R IV" manufactured under license by Peritek!
