I think I have quite understood the classification system of the sempron and athlon 64 cpu by the wording for example "3000+". But is this classification also reliable for a precise comparison between them?
Specifically for socket 754, the sempron 3400+ is actually faster than an athlon64 3200+. The specifications of the two CPUs that interest me are:
Sempron 3400+

Athlon64 3200+
https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-A ... XBOX).html
I understand that they are two different technologies (Palermo vs Venice), but from my ignorance it still seems to me that the specifications of the athlon64 are superior, yet it is ranked 200 lower than the Sempron. Which of the two would actually be better? I guess in each case there is a trivial difference between them, but I would like to understand more about this classification system!
