Hello, I wanted to add a printer to my 5160 setup and incidentally I have both an
- Amstrad DMP-2000
- Smith-Corona Fastext 80

Both seem to have a parallel port, but I can find any information regarding compatibility.
Where can I look?

The DMP-2000 should work on a PC with DOS if you set the dip switches proper. https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Amstrad/Schn … Printer#Manuals
Manual shows printing from MS Basic. This page says is in the Epson FX-80 family compatibility.....https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Amstrad/Schn … _Specifications.
The DMP-2000 Centronix pinout is nearly identical to the Epson except for the way pin3 13 and 14 are used....
Appears the Fastext 80 is also Epson FX80 compatible from a quick search.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks for taking the time Horun, a quick google gives me nothing for the Fastext... whatsoever!
Not an image that matches nor a reference, I don't understand. I only got typewriters in return.
Oh well, thanks nonetheless; I will definitely look at those links!
Is there a guide on how to identify replacement inks? I hope they still sell them, I saw they sell the continuous feed paper.
