Hello all, I have a sound blaster 16 CT2770. The fm music works fine all my machines, socket 3 and socket 7, except in the SOYO 4SAW2. Every other card i try including Ess688, Yamaha opl3sax, Wessington 16, and opti 930 work fine! They all have Yamaha chips. The digital out and midi work fine! Anybody know if there is something to do with the motherboard? Anything special on power feed I should check?

Generally check -12V at the ISA slots if some newer sound cards misbehave. For really old cards (SB 2.0?, Pro Audio Spectrum), check -5V, too. AFAIK no SB16 requires -5V, though.

Well... What do you know! The PCI and ISA slots don't get -12v! There was a hairline crack in the -12v rail under the battery slot!
