Man, I am having a heck of a time getting Wing Commander Prophecy working in Win11.

The gog version of Wing Commander Prophecy will not work in WIndows 11.

I have applied the OpenGL patch and the Enhancement patch and it still does not work. It just gives a black screen and quits.

It does work fine in Windows 10.

I got it to work in a VM with Windows XP, but I cannot get the HD videos to work.

It seems like vmware player does not work well with the K-Lite codec.

Has anyone got the gog version of this game to work in Windows 11?

Now, I am going to try to get it to work with WinXP in 86Box.

I want to see if the K-Lite codec will work in that emulator.

Vmware seems to cause problems with games.

If I just do a straight gog install, mine just brings up a grey screen with the mouse pointer in the middle and quits.

So, something is going on with my Win11.

This is also on a laptop, so that may be a factor. It might be trying to use my Intel graphics instead of my Geforce.

I tried the game long ago on Win11 and it worked natively. I don't recall if it uses OpenGL natively, if it uses DirectX maybe throw dgVoodoo2 at the game

The patch that enhances the game uses OpenGL, so I can't use dgvoodoo2.

I did get the game to work with HD movies in a Win10 VM. So, it is fine now.

I have no idea why it will not work in Win11 on my laptop.

AH. One thing I did not try is putting it in Win10 compatiblity mode. That may be an idea.

I got it to work in a Windows 10 VM. For some reason, I am getting black lines on the lens flares.
