Looking at buying a pack of 3.5 floppies, was going to buy a pack of Maxell MF2HD disk from floppydisk.com via their Amazon storefront becasue I have used them before. $13 shipped. Appear to be new, reformatted and verified by seller.

https://www.amazon.com/Maxell-1-44MB-Pr ... 0004Z5AS/ (Under other sellers)

Seen they also have a brand I've never seen before, Multilaser. Same price, new, sealed.

Has anyone used them? Know anything about them?

Will primarily be used for my "Reasonable DOS/Win3.11" machine. A Reasonable DOS 6.22 / Windows 3.x Retro Build - Blog & Build Feedback

Thanks in advance!

These seem to be contract manufactured for, custom branded, imported and sold by the Brazilian company Multilaser in their local market.

No idea who made them (there may be several OEMs). I saw some photos of box art and text that indicated that at least some of these were manufactured in China by an unknown (AFAIK) OEM.

Multilaser.com.br was the website on the box. They still exist, but likely no longer sell floppies (assuming it is actually the same company).

Hmm stick with Maxell. Not important but I only get Maxell, Fuji, Sony and TDK 1.44mb if I can (except have bought some Office Depot big packs, knowing they can be ok for a few short uses 🤣 but not for long term)

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I ended up going with the Maxell disks. 😀

I've used, know, and trust them more than I would a random generic brand.

Still, as "brand name" floppies get harder to find at a reasonable price, it would be nice to know if some of these new old stock generics are any good.

I've had bad luck with the new sealed generics.

I stick to NOS Sony disks.
