When I'm bored I fire up modplug tracker (so shoot me if it's modplug and not screamtracker/impulsetracker) and try to accurately reproduce the sound of another game system... in MOD format! Unfortunately, not the 4 channel limited-like-a-straightjacket Protracker MOD format, though. (SORRY AMIGA ENTHUSIASTS 🤣)

Here's a couple megadrivenesses

I wonder how your 486s handle these with 12-channel+ capable DOS module players 😜 (Cubic Player 1.7+ recommended)

p.s. I only 'upgrade' to s3m when the song has too many unique patterns to continue as a mod

I use XMPlay for listening to tracker music in Windows.

Also, if you're looking for old (or new) tracker music for inspiration, modarchive.org has tons.

How do you find covers in the sea of scene music there?

I really hope i'm not the only human in the world with this .mod faithful-cover ability.
