Hi,
I have downloaded yoke, Timidity++
I have changed the midi device to Yoke
Setting everything in DOSBox according to the other threads.
But still no music.
Does anyone have links to general steps for setting up MIDI in win31?
Thanks
Jack

does it work with games so they use yoke? This is the first step to make sure midi is played through yoke before going at windows.

And then install the SB drivers as in my guide. This will by default set midi to the dosbox set midi port.

Hi Dominus,
Hummm.... I am not quite sure which games use MIDI. As I was using Dosbox under Windows XP, the drivers had all been setup properly, do I have to uninstall them, and then reinstall them once again?
Thanks
Jack

Typically there is a sound config executable included in the files installed by the game, usually named setsound.exe, setup.exe, install.exe or similar. You'll want to run that and reconfigure the sound options to use General Midi.

In Doom2, I can hear the music, what to do next? do I uninstall all windows drivers? No matter what I choose intelligent, UART, MUNT, ALSA, OSS, win32 etc, still got no midi (for example, afterdark as a test) or playing crayon.mid for experiment
Thanks

How to check? When I was setting the MIDI mapper, this messagebox comes up?
Thanks

first of all you don't want "SB16 ext Midi", you want "SB16 all Midi".
Also, you might need to install the Creative SB16 drivers again. You check the midi port with those (SoundBlaster Configuration Program)

I managed to get the port no it is 220 interrupt 7 and also tried all midi to no avail.
I think I would try to reinstall the drivers later...
Thanks

don't try all midi ports, it needs to be the same you set in dosbox conf, by default 330.

What is your Windows setup? Is it Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11? Also did you install Windows from within Dosbox or is it an older Windows installation you now use in Dosbox?
If you installed it in Dosbox, did you follow my guide? Windows 3.1x DOSBox Guide

Unfortunately, I only had a range of 210-260 to choose from. I am using
Windows Sound Blaster driver 1.5.
Thanks
