I'm trying the Macintosh versions of Prince of Persia 1 and Prince of Persia 2, but it's near impossible to get acceptable sound and music.

I've tweaked the number of buffers, its size, different resolutions... to no avail.

Has anyone managed to get it right?

Try changing the processor type in the configuration, try with/without FPU. Try Sheepshaver as well.

I've tried everything. With and without FPU, tried all the different CPUs... but sound is still awful.

I've even installed Mac OS 7.1 (which simply doesn't produce any sound), and Mac OS 7.5, Mac OS 7.6, Mac OS 8.1 and Mac OS 9.0.4.

In the past few days I've installed more Mac OS versions than I ever have in my entire life!

All in vain, because Prince of Persia's music is a horrid mess in all of them.

It seems that no emulator is capable of getting these games right. Oh, well, I'll try again in the next decade, maybe I'll have more luck then! 😉
