This one is a real pain to get working, even the normal version, let alone the 3dfx version.
I had to do some serious pif editing to get this to even boot, and in 3dfx mode it ignores fullscreen/window modes. And you are left with a blank black screen and sound effects, but alt enter to window it and the game runs.

It looked good though, and it ran smooth, with just a few graphic problems creating a trails effect now and then with the HUD.
If you can see the window, Glidos loses focus and you can't select the window at all, but you can still play it.
I'm going to ghost backup my WinME partition and install Win98SE, as this OS has a proper DOS and not a simulated DOS.

I wouldn't expect much difference. I got basically the same results testing under Win98SE.

Keep up the good work in testing, Craig...

Still, here's some reading material for you:
Do you read or subscribe to Glidos' SmartGroups forum too? There's a user who got Archimedean Dynasty working...

Thanks for the links, Stiletto
I'll give them a go.

I still got to try a few more games yet, but 3 are still giving me grief.

I've looked at this game a bit, but I gave up when I found I couldn't make it work at all under XP/2000 because of VESA problems. However, now I have some sort of VESA support in Glidos, I can get the initial splash screen up in 2000, so there's hope again. I don't think the VESA support will work for you, because it requires updates that I've done since the last release of Glidos. And its no good me sending you just the new GldVESA.exe file because I've changed the way it communicates with the server. In any case the, after the intiial splash screen, the game waits for mouse input, and my mouse support doesn't work with the VESA support; more work to do there.

You keep up the good work, Paul, And I'll keep testing games for you.
If you need anything tested, just let me know.
Whether it's a beta GliDOS, or some games with Vesa support.

On a different note, I did manage to get Shadow Warrior working in software mode, but the 3dfx version

Locks up fullscreen with a black screen
Windows Bleeps an error code and you can then alt+enter to goto the error message

Screen Mode Fail

And in the GliDOS server it says

Resolution = 800x600
Refresh rate = 60Hz
Color format = ABGR
Number of color buffers = 2
Number of aux buffers = 0

Thanks for all the tests. I can't keep up with you, but these results will sit here until I get time to look at each game.

That screen mode fail thing may go away if you put Glidos into windowed mode. Actually I might upload a special test version for you sometime, that leaves the DOS Window open so you can see DOS side error messages.
