Can you change the I/O address of the ES1688 MIDI so that the SCP-55 I/O will be 330h?

Apparently the es1688 mpu401 port can only be 300-300.....
There are no solutions

So what is the I/O port of the SCP-55?
It should be 330 by default unless it's already in use by another hardware.

The SCP-55 I/O port can be changed.
I set it to 300-330 but conflict happens with es1688.
The real problem is that I can change Roland scp-55 I/O port (it has a large range, it can be, for example, 300, 370 etc.) )
but I can't change the ES1688 port. Its range is limited to 300-330.
Basically I should need a "magic" low-level tool to force the internal card to change its fucking midi I/O!

Set the ESS1688 to 300h and the SCP-55 to 330h. You shouldn't need to set a range for either.

I'm using win98se. I go to control panel. then system, then devices properties. Not all the settings for I/O can be changed. The settings for ss1688 I/O are 330-331 and there's no way to change them

I don't think...the IBM Thinkpad 365xd laptop BIOS does not allow big changes to devices.
I also found a dos tool called ESSCFG which allows to change irq, dma and, of course, mpu401.
Obviously the mpu401 port can be 300, 310, 320, 330....but not other values.
Actually the Roland SCP-55 is a great audio-midi card and it works perfectly with windows applications, like, for example, Cakewalk Pro 3 (midi-only sequencer). It works also in Dos, but with MPU401 values different from 300-330 or it will get conflicts with the ES1688. Under DOS and, specifically, under Impulse Tracker, at mpu401 values set to 370 it can send perfect midi sequences (and the internal Roland synth will play too...). The real problem is Fastracker, which only accepts typical Sound Blaster values.

The last hope is finding a PCMCIA to joystik interface which probably can give the internal sound card MPU401 port...
It's impossible to find it today on ebay...something like JC Designs Gamecard Pro would suit........
I really would like to try it, just to see if it works........
