Re-tested Space Quest 4 MPC Multimedia Ver. under DBox 6.0 but still no speech audio but cracking noise played through soundblaster in game.

Before I post an comment to the game database, I want to know whether this problem have been fixed under 0.60.

Tunning the conf file could help the problem?

I was under the impression that Sierra only identified it's Windows versions as "MPC" titles (at least that was what the "MPC" was meant to identify).

Odds are, it's not DosBox. Sierra's "classic" titles have a long history of DOS sound driver problems. The driver might need to be updated, "swapped out", or processed with "GoSierra".

Can't say myself as I (apparently) don't have it...

Well, the MPC CD's got both the Win16 and the DOS executables.

Yes, it’s my fault.

The only way to get speech on the DOS-Version of the CD-ROM is to replace the file AUDBLAST.DRV with AUDBLAST.DRV from Space Quest V. This will work perfect.

I've experienced this issue with Kings Quest 6 MPC. Easy way with that one was to just choose 'Thunderboard' for digital sound. Try that for SQ4, it'll probably work.
