What was this game?

Dates back to Win9x, and was on of the first things I exercised my S3 Savage 4 on (needed a 3D card, I think it used OpenGL).

There was a ball, moving through a floating track (several tracks, and I think there were user made ones as well) - if it fell off, you lost!

I thought it was called "Balls of Steel", before the TV show and pinball game

[EDIT] It was called "I've got some BALLS" (Sebastian Aaltonen, 1999).

Labyrinth (D3D7)? Neverball (OpenGL)?

Attached my install directory. Haven't tried to run it recently. I think it last ran for me in WinXP okay.

I wonder if an XP VM would do the trick.

Feels like overkill. There's probably some AppCompat flags that will make short work of it or something 😀

I got a static pic out of it with DGVoodo, but then after tweaking further, not even got that far now.

It's a D3D6 game. The DX SDK sample code device/res picker was recognizable

Works on PCem v10.1 with WinME guest and 3dfx Voodoo Graphics 😀

If someone gets this running natively outside of a VM or emulator, please let us know and let us know how you did it 😀

So far I was able to go to the "menu" in 1920x1080x32, it crashes on start though because it does a nasty reinitialization

Hello, working just fine on windows 7 for me, i7 6700k, gpu r9 390. No 3rd party program needed. Enter key is set on left crtl, navigate with arrows and go back with esc. Im playing in 1920x1080x32 120fps. Some level are missing or maybe there is another verson, back in 2000 it was much more dificult to complete those levels 😊 and i dont remember any ollin.

That's because the GCN cards have much better legacy D3D compatibility (than HD5/6/7/8) since the Crimson drivers which weren't available at this time. 😀

Well, it's working on my system.
Specs:
Windows 7 Pro
i7 6500U
Intel HD graphics 520

Compatibility set to Windows 98/ME, works fine until you try to end to game and go back to the menu, then it crashes. I didn't do anything special other than that. As others have pointed out, the enter key is remapped to left ctrl.

Runs and get to title screen and music, but can't seem to access the menu

And I can't get it working in Wine or a Windows 7 VM (VirtualBox) either.

Made me think immediately of a game I used to play called Switchball.
