I saw a listing for an 'embedded Pentium 266 MMX' for Socket 7 on Ebay. Now I have a socket 7 mobo, so I thought I might give it a try. The thing is, the mobo gives 2.0 volt as the lowest option for CPU core voltage, while the P266MMX needs 1.9V. Now I was wondering, would the CPU tolerate 2.0V as well? What do you guys think?

It would tolerate 2.0V, but it might not work on your board. Is your board known to be working with tillamook?

it will easily live with 2.0v vcc, but it has a rated vio of 2.5v as well and i remember the absolute vio(that will cause damage) is around 3.1 or so, while most board has a default vio of 3.3. so you would need a board with adjustable vio as well.
the major downside of the 'embedded Pentium 266 MMX'(tillamook core) is that for most boards you have to run it with onboard cache disabled or it wouldn't move on after post.

Oh I hadn't thought of Tillamook compatibility. I actually don't know, I'll have to google that. Or maybe someone here knows; the board is an Asus TXP4 rev. 1.02

Could a software cache activation program get around that?
