Would it be possible to convert Quest Studios Forum database to some new forum format (for example the one vogons uses) and make it available closed just for browsing and with working search engine?

It's been talked about but my understanding is
1. the old Quest Studios forum was hacked, so whoever was going to do this would need to go all through everything with a fine-toothed comb to be sure any hacks were removed and
2. the former Quest Studios admin would have to trust someone else with the database - which contains a lot of personal info, IP addresses and email addresses and names and such - and it didn't sound like he was going to trust anyone new with that anytime soon and
3. No one's entirely sure if a recent backup even exists.
For more information, please hunt down the previous thread on VOGONS about Quest Studios forum going down.

There's a guy on the new QuestStudios forum who has a custom search tool for looking on the Wayback archive on the QS forum(s).
Wait, there's a new QS forum?

Not really, it's the forum of MIDI Music Adventure Show (which hosts the Quest Studios archives).

It's the forum for the website, so I don't see it as anything other than that. It's certainly not used as a forum for the MIDI Adventure site.
Oh, yeah that's not the same at all.
