Both the Diamond MX300 and Turtle Beach Montego II have alleged support for S/PDIF via daughterboards that attach via special headers, and which are rarer than the mystical Nvidia Voodoo6 6500 with hardware T&L and DX8 support.
Does anyone know if it's possible to hack a generic S/PDIF bracket with RCA and TosLink jacks onto either of the above cards using tricks like Phil recently demonstrated with the SB Live!? Is it surely a matter of finding the right pins that correspond to pins on the brackets, or do the daughterboards do more that is required for this to work?
Also, does anyone know of a good DAC with more than three inputs? The following is almost perfect, but something almost exactly the same but with 4 digital inputs would be pretty much spot on.
