Hi all, I found a heatsink and fan here at home that will do the job quite well to go with my AM5x86-P75 CPU but I need a thermal pad to stick it to eachother, would it be best to use a 1mm pad or a 0.5mm pad I dont know but wouldnt the 0.5mm be better for heat transfers because of the thickness?

I found these:

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/29189/ek- … hermal-pad-1mm/

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/29192/ek- … al-pad-b-0-5mm/

Or is this the wrong type of pad?

If the idea is to stick a clip-less HSF to the CPU, these won't work; they aren't adhesive.

Just use sticky thermal paste like Arctic Cooling and reinforce it with small amounts of adhesive near the corners of CPU.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Serpent's suggestion is a solid one.
