Hi,

I managed to get Destruction Derby working (with music, ...).
I’m now fine-tuning a little bit the settings and more especially the controls.

I have a PC/PS3 USB BigBen gamepad which I would like to use.

Here’s what I tried with the results I got :

1) In game configuré the gamepad as analog joystick
- This is more or less working. More or less because the calibration is not good. The car tends to turn right in straight lines.
- I check the file DD.CFG and the values were something like 0, 600, 1300, 100, 125 (I rounded the figures). I thus tried to put 100 everywhere but then when I launch a race, the game exists with some errors.

2) Create a mapper file to map keyboard keys to my gamepad
- I can map every key and the mapper file is being created.
- In game, all keys are working except the arrows which is not nice for a racing game. 😀

My next try will be : in the mapper, instead of mapping the keyboard to the gamepad, I’ll remap the joystick to the gamepad so that directions are mapped on the gamepad cross rather than the left analog joystick. And in game, I’ll define a numeric (and not analogic) joystick.

My question to who play this game : how have you configured and calibrated your gamepad to play Destruction Derby ?

If you have timed=true in DOSBox config file, change to timed=false, then recalibrate in-game.
