Hi guys, I need some help. I have a Radeon X1600Pro 512Mb AGP card which I want to use in an XP gaming machine. Card makes artifacts, I got it in this condition. I cant afford now to buy another one and I want to upgrade from 128Mb. I removed the heatsink, cleaned the card, tested some traces and I found a dead capacitor. I tested all the caps - loaded them with a multimeter with resistence function and tested voltage. Only one is bad. I have recapped some motherboards, but I changed only those barrel type electrolytic capacitors. This one is a vertical chip capacitor and has different markings, I dont understand it. I know on these the marked one is + but there are some numbers and letters on the top. I read everything what I found, tried some capacitor code decoders, but I am not an electrician and I cant figure out the meaning of codes. Yeah, I know now I look stupid but those barrel types are so easy. Capacitance, voltage and temperature. I found some articles which tells the first two digits are the capacitance and the third is a multiplier. The third digit must be 0,1,2,3,4,5 or 6. Mine has this:
67Z
100
6V
It makes sense only when I read it from top like 616 which is 61uF and 70 volts. My question is a bit dumb. This is the right way to read these capacitors? From top? And not from left to right? Thanks for answers, have a nice days
