Greetings,
I am looking for help about a joystick problem I'm experiencing with some old games, Gods and Battlehawks 1942.
Gods doesn't work correctly with any joystick configuration I could come up with, but I managed to make it run by disabling joystick support in its config program, and mapping keyboard inputs to joystick with mapper.
I tried to make a mapper file for BH1942, but it keeps asking me to calibrate my joystick when I run the game, and ignores any keyboard mapping I've set with mapper, making it unplayable (joystick points to the lower left).
I think it could work if I could disable joystick before running BH142.EXE, just like Gods. I've tried joysticktype=none on the command line, but joystick still is detected.
I was wondering if:
1) there is a way to disable and enable joystick from the command line;
2) there is a fix for BH1942 (patch or specific configuration options).
I see the game is marked as supported fine in DOSBox 0.58, but runnable in 0.63.
I'm using DOSBox-ECE r4271 on a Windows 10 x64 PC.
My mount command is MOUNT C "E:\DOSBox\C\" -t dir, and I'm trying to run Battlehawks 1942 that comes from the LucasArts Air Combat Classics floppies.
My gamepad is a Microsoft controller for XBOX ONE, model 1697.
Thank you very much for your time reading this!
