I have a W98SE PC with a 440BX and AWE32 CT3910. It's jumpered, not PNP.
Windows 98 installs windows drivers for awe32 synth effects and sb16 emulations upon first boot. It works fine in windows.
However I am trying to install the card in DOS. I am using Phil's computer lab drivers and when I run the sbbasic install.exe I get to the screen where I can change the driver install path.
The issue I have is that I when I try to change/ remove the Windows install path, I get an error:
On Script line 41 we had a problem:
ERROR CODE 2088
press any key to continue.
It won't let me choose not to install windows drivers. When I press the Any key, the install will skip to the next step, continuing just fine, overwriting windows drivers... And buggering up my windows install so that it crashes upon boot into windows.
Any ideas what causes this error?
