It's much deeper than that. Does it signify a fear of DOS prompts? Are the DOS prompts coming to take your money? 😁

Long story short - I love vintage computer icons with the moon and stars. As for my avatar, it was inspired by the icon for winlogon.exe, or the icon you see at NT's shutdown screen. I made it myself on my Compaq Presario 425 😀

In September 1992, BYTE published an article about the death of UNIX and the fact that it could be soon displaced by Windows NT. You can read the original article here: http://jonudell.net/archive/is-unix-dead.html or here: https://archive.org/details/byte-magazine-1992-09/page/n141
Probably unbeknownst to the authors, a young finnish man had unveiled, one year ago, his "minix-like kernel": https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/comp.os … 9o/GwqLJlPSlCEJ
Almost thirty years later, Linux ends up being so ubiquitous that Microsoft's cloud service, Azure, now has more instances of Linux than Windows Server, and Windows 10 contains an emulation layer to run Linux.
One could argue the authors were right: these days commercial UNIX a thing of the past. So perhaps Linux killed it 😉

Finally time for a new avatar. 😀 (End of an era?)
It's a Star Wars Expanded Universe character from the comic books. I use this avatar on Github and Twitter.
RIP the olde VOGON Computers logo (a real business in the UK, but no relation) (Re: Story behind your avatar? )

I love the US Second Amendment, one of the cornerstones of freedom.
Look at Hungary: they just passed a law that bans all rubber bullet revolvers in 3 years. Rubber! They were designed to be non-lethal and they banned those too. Criminals don't give a damn about these bans so the lawmakers only punish people who want to excercise their rights for self-defense.
Hold onto your gun rights even if you don't really like them, because it is more valuable than you'd think. It's part of your freedom.

Oh yeah my avatar is Max the rabbit, from Sam and Max. I identify with his misanthropic malefaction, not his lagomorphism. No damn furry

Mine is one of the pictures I captured of the Total Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017. It demonstrates the "Diamond Ring Effect" as the sun starts to come out from behind the moon.

I can hear your gravelly voice talking to me via the PC speaker in my head 😆
Life? Don't talk to me about life.

Hey, don't forget the amazingly clear PCM version of the IBM PS/1 version of Slipheed. The voice sounds incredibly corny.
