VOGONS

I've just got a copy of Apache Longbow, and tried running on my Win98 machine.

Software version runs fine, but I want to try to 3dfx version. Machine has 2 Voodoo 2's running in SLI. I've installed the 3dfx-enabled version of Longbow, I can change the program settings [under Preferences] but when I try to run Arcade [say] the computer locks with a black screen [can just make out the 3dfx logo].

Any ideas? Do I need to not run Win98 but Win95? Could it be a DirectX problem - I have 8.1 installed whereas the game comes with a version much older? I have tried turning off SLI and limiting memory for glide apps to 2mb. No joy.

The Voodoo drivers are the Creative originals, which work on everything else [including AvP, which is cr@p on my pachine if I use FastVoodoo2-4-6 drivers].

Use environment variables to fake it into a Voodoo1

Sounds interesting...

Do you mean edit the driver files?

Is that what this is about:

Any guidance on how to set a V2 to act like a V1?

i beleive you put the following in autoexec.bat

set SST_GRXCLK=50
set SST_FT_CLK_DEL=0x4
set SST_TF0_CLK_DEL=0x6
set SST_TF1_CLK_DEL=0x6
