I got the same board without any RAM and can confirm it runs with 2xRIMM und 1xCRIMM.
The CTRIMM module is not required.
Testing my retail boxed P3C-D board I can also confirm this.
My observations:
- It NEEDS a C-RIMM module in the 3rd slot nearest to the AGP port, it wont POST without it, or with a memory module instead. Therefor it wont boot with 3 modules.
- Does not need CT-RIMM, any cheap OEM C-RIMM like Dell ones will do.
- It NEEDS a C-P2T PC133 Slot 1 terminator module in the second cpu slot if only 1 CPU is present, otherwise it wont boot. With a pair of same speed processors that work in dual mde the terminator isnt needed.
- With a 1999.12.3 dated BIOS memory modules ar capped to 64/128MB 600/700/800MHz parts. It will not boot with 256/512MB modules.
mod: BIOS is first release ver 1009. It also has a 866MHz processor, and a 8x multiplier limit, and will not reboot with a 850mhz PIII installed. On first boot it detects it as an 866MHz part but will black screen on reboot whatever settings are selected. Interestingly enough it will happily run a 1000Mhz Slot 1 Coppermine with 133MHz FSB, after upping it from 100MHz on first boot. It does complain about BIOS update data being incorrect on CPUID 00000686, hidden above PCI device listing, but nothing more.
