Hello Everyone,
I am looking to get some guidance on how to work out this issue I am currently having with my retro build. Please forgive my ignorance but sound cards have always seemed to be a difficult topic for me.
You can see the computer has the following:
SPECS:
Pentium MMX 233 processor
Tyan S1590S-100 Super Socket 7 AT Motherboard
48mb PC100 Memory (for now)
Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Pro 4mb (2D Card)
Diamond Monster 3D 4mb (Voodoo 1)(3D Card)
Aztech Sound Galaxy Pro 16 II - OPL3 Card (FCC ID# I38-MMSN824)
32GB Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 8 HDD
Windows 95 - OSR2
I installed the drivers on windows found here on Vogons for the Sound Galaxy Pro 16 II. Using files "P16IIB-1","P16IIB-2", and "2316FD95".
I believe these are the proper drivers although the text document in the folder states the FCC ID is I38-MMSN845 BUT the card does have the AZT-2316 chipset.
Here is what it is and is not doing:
Windows startup and sound effects work fine
CD audio works fine,
MIDI files play fine
Windows based PC games audio appear to work fine
Any MS-DOS game that I launch from windows 95 does not detect my sound card in the sound setups for games BUT will play ADLIB from them just fine. I did notice during my boot sequence, that the IRQ for my multimedia device shows as "NA". Is there some sort of DOS driver i have to install when not in windows and in command prompt?
Please see photos below, The first photo is my current sound card configuration when it was installed..
