1) I can build a machine that can play the games I used to play at a performance level I could only have imagined of back in the day.
2) The 80s, 90s and even early 2000's were a very experimental time in PC gaming and there's a lot of stuff you don't see so much anymore. Modern AAA gaming is increasingly risk adverse and thus increasingly predictable. I'm not saying the games are 'bad' but the verity of game types has diminished entirely and inventive and experimental things are limited more to indie titles. There's just a lot of neat classic games that you'd not see new today and they're just as fun to play now as yesteryear.
