Anyone have a Pentium 75 MHZ or 100Mhz that can run a 'bench' progam for me in DOS (or Windows ) (is 16bit )?

I only have a Cyrix 5x86 (slow FPU) and need something faster to test the program I made vs a 68060 75MHz Motorola CPU

It will take less than 10 seconds.

anyone?

I've got an AIO Compaq P1 75mhz out in the shed I can give a go on.

There's a glitch in the matrix.

Would a P90 be OK, too?

90Mhz is OK. Thanks 😀

Can you see if any of these are faster on your INTEL (less time) ?
FPU512AA
FPU512AB
FPU512AC
FPU512AD
(C was the fastest for me. It gave my 100 MHz Cyrix CPU a small boost (from 3.1 sec to 2.5 sec..still did not beat your Intel CPU). D was very slow took 20 seconds!)

They were all slower on the P90. The overall times were like this:

A: 2.087000 to 2.143000
B: 2.142000
C: 1.867000
D: 12.633000 (yes, that long)

You can usually also jumper a P90 to run at 75MHz, 100, 120 and often 133MHz. If you want a bit more power from that machine you can try it. 😎

I am testing FPU performance (Intel vs Motorola). Motorola at the time was supposedly better at FPU on the 68060 CPU' vs Intel.
The 75Mhz 68060 CPU( 1.648 seconds) is currently as fast as Kalle's 90MHz Intel in these test's.

ok , thanks
So Cyrix and Intel behave similar. A, B, D version was also slower than BC version for me.

I will see if it is possible to make the C version a little faster than BC version on Intel too

Pics of the last two tests. Same P75 system:

Forgot: P5 is the preferred version.

P3 version is probably the same speed as P5, but you never now with old hardware 😀

Perfect!
and your Intel 75 Mhz beat my 100Mhz Cyrix (I got 1.453 s)

Thanks!

Pentium 1s were well known for their better fpu perforence compared to competing cpus at the time..😉

It would be fun if my 100 Mhz Cyrix got beaten by a 486. I think the P3 version will work on a 486 (or maybe the P5 version too).

I'll give them a shot on one of my 486DX2/66 or 486DX2/50 and see how they go...
