Anyone know if this is some kind of Intel Overdrive CPU.
The Intel Fan is glued to the CPU.

It's what would be called for short a 430TX chipset. The CPU may be a retail boxed MMX, think it would have the overdrive shwoosh on the label if it was the MMX overdrive. Most "TX" boards should not need an overdrive to run an MMX, unless it was a "lazy upgrade" of a system that came with a P133 or something and owner just wanted to stick something right in, no messing with jumper settings.

I don’t have the proper cable for the “CPU fan to MotherBoard fan header connection”.
Anyone know the pin-out for these wires ?
The fan header has 3-pins where the CPU fan only has 2-pins.
The fan reads DC12v.

this is no brainier stuff. there's only 2 wires going to the fan. try using a multi meter. yikes

I have one of those sitting on my desk, I'll post a photo. Jan Steunebrink has a patched BIOS for that board that will aid in running a K6-2+ if you should ever want to.

Would it be better to use a standard Intel Pentium MMX 233 CPU and this fan.
This fan has a 3-pin header connection.

Well, if you can find a suitable 3-pin header on the motherboard it could. If not, not.

The cooler you posted is a Socket A; they can work on some Socket 7 boards, but yours has capacitors very near the socket which would likely interfere with a Socket A cooler. Something like this Startech would work.

On your RAM question, why not use the SDRAM you already have, and just add another DIMM if you need to? The TX chipset caches up to 64 megabytes, so performance can actually be reduced if you add more; the only way around this is with a K6-2+ (or K6-3 or K6-3+) with their on die level 2 cache. I have a K6-3+ in my TX motherboard, and I have the motherboard's memory cache disabled since it reduced my benchmark scores.

As far as I know intel never made 233 Mmx overdrive.

This is a standard boxed Pentium 233 MMX. They had the cooler "permanently" attached to the cpu

Okay, since I already had one of these CPU coolers on hand I just used it. It fits fine. It’s just TALL.
But the fan connector fits the motherboard fan header right and provides for fan speed control.
I found a Pentium MMX 233 in my CPU bin.
I will have to find a CPU fan power cable for the other CPU.

I read on the motherboard manual that this is a high end socket 7 motherboard with advanced features
which also supports WinNT, Novell Netware and many CPU types.
