Power VR2 (Power VR extreme) is the only support chipsets, not the older Power VR

incorrect. PowerVR Extreme's just a marketing label (usually associated with their GLQuake MiniGL driver, but sometimes applied like 'powervr ready' for the PCX2).

some game developers in 1998 had done some support for the then-upcoming PowerVR SG card before that got delayed into 1999's Neon250, so old remnants about PowerVR2/PowerVRSG/SGL2 in 98 games are all premature and can't work with the PCX1/2 cards (and not guaranteeing Neon250 either). PowerVR1 (PCX1/2) lacks blending functions and will fail the caps check, so FF7 can't work with it, despite some magazine reviews claiming it has PowerVR support.

(mentions of PowerVR2 doesn't help the issue of dreamass speculation either.)

Thanks for the clarification, text was taken from that support site, i have not tested FF7 myself on any PowerVR card (removed PowerVR text, link still there).
