I wonder if this Maximizer is a Cyrix or an AMD?
Anything in the manual about it?
Just wanted to make sure to add that you don't have to break the seal if you intent to keep it sealed 🤣

I've been looking for a period-correct set of speakers for my old PC setup for a while. Finally found these Yamaha YST-M8s at Goodwill today.
I knew Yamaha made good stuff but these things blew me away. I haven't heard better bass response out of any other 2.1 set without a subwoofer.
Pluto, the maxed out Dell Dimension 4100: Pentium III 1400S | 256MB | GeForce4 Ti4200 + Voodoo4 4500 | SB Live! 5.1
Charon, the DOS and early Windows time machine: K6-III+ 600 | 256MB | TNT2 Ultra + Voodoo3 2000 | Audician 32 Plus
From what I've read, there are conflicting stories on these. Some say the 133mhz is an AMD chip. Others say it could be a Cyrix chip. The boxes do mention branch prediction which could lean towards Cyrix but I don't know how else to confirm without unsealing it.
Here's the start of a previous discussion on it:

Pretty rare for this one and the Gravis-branded version (that I recently saw someone picked up here). I've seen bare cards but this is the first boxed Synergy version I've seen.

That was me 😁...
You are looking now for Gravis Extreme and now I'm trying to collect funds for ViperMax.
Everyone is looking for something that someone else has 😀

I purchased a bare GB-133 a few years and unfortunately have to confirm its the amd version, I doubt a cyrix version exists and the box is misleading stating things like "branch prediction & 5th generation"!
edit: Interestingly the "GB-120/100/80" are exactly the same IBM5x86C cpus that run at 120mhz 🤣, geez they did some strange things with stickers back in those days!

Thanks for confirming. I figured as much but still wanted it in my collection as I have a boxed Cyrix Gainbery 120Mhz version as well.

Two old via C3 processors for socket 370. One of them is not listed on world-cpu (?) so need to be tested and nicely described.
Got this today, for 35€
😀
I received the compact 286/16 machine and so far it looks awesome and small! Here are some pics before I take it apart for the usual cleaning and repairing:
it came with 2 cards installed: an MDA clone and an old NIC:
there is a riser with 3x ISA slots :
the mobo has onboard I/O and FDD/HDD controller - most likely that ACER chip's job:
the PSU is also a good one - I was surprised... all Rubicon caps , a bridge rectifier, decent filtering AFAIK
I genuinely like this machine - small size and packed! I plan to use a CF for HDD (maybe add XT-IDE BIOS somehow on the board's BIOS?) a WDC VGA, a SB2.0 with CMS chips and maybe a MPU 😎
I also received a TYAN quad-opteron setup (no PSU and no HDD though):
case is a Cooler Master CM Stacker in great condition , mobo is a Thunder K8QW with 8GB of RAM along with an EVGA 9800GX2 ... cpus are a mystery atm.
Got these two PCI graphics cards recently. Some quick benchmarks hint that these may be two of the fastest DOS cards I've tested. Will run full tests and make a topic later.
Got lucky on the ARK2000. These are super hard to find, and usually very expensive on ebay. This one had an ambiguous listing description (Gainward VGA Graphics Card), so would've never come up for anyone searching for ARK2000PV. Got it for $10 shipped. 😎 BTW, the "Gainward" comes from the FCC ID, which lists Gainward as the manufacturer.
BTW, does anyone know what type of memory chips go in the ARK2000PV expansion slots? I'd like to eventually upgrade this from 1 to 2 MB. If someone can link to the right part# for me to order, that would be awesome. The existing memory chips look 45ns, so I guess I should get 45ns for the expansion memory too.
The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

Not much going on, a Cirrus Logic GD-5446. I'll use this one with the socket 7 mobo I recently acquired.
