Do you have the M290 tech manual (is diff than the 290-25 and 290-30) ? With 2 x 1MB simms you need to change the P1 jumper and the dip switches 1 & 2.
The manual does list the Miniscribe 3425 HD to be set as type 16 as in your picture...

Thanks a lot, P1 jumper was on 1-2 instead of 2-3 position, now i have available memory 😀
Unfortunately, Miniscribe disk is faulty. I tried to set it on 16, and tried with DOS disk, but FDISK gives me errors about "no hard disk" 🙁
Now it is the time for Sound Card 😀

Managed to add CT2940 with unisound driver, now everything works perfect!!!

Hello there , i have just purchased the last holy grail of my computer collection list ,the very same olivetti M290 and i would like to ask you if you can send me the program to access the bios .Also do you know where i can find the latest bios?My M290 lays on bios bios 1.11 and i see that there are bioses up to 1,34.Does anybody know if the bios supports both revisions of the cpu controller boards that are available for the computer? I am waiting for it and cant wait to lay my hands on it.My father used to have this pc for his work and i was not supposed even to touch it considering this little pc was part his job. Well Titus the fox and prince of Persia of 1990 here we come !
