thought I'd add this here...

http://mpolibbs.steptail.com/hardware/CDROM/PHILIPS/
there are some drivers to be found there for the philips/magnavox/lmsi cdroms/cards.

found it via this

edit: don't mind the description mentioning ATAPI/IDE

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Thanks, those drivers should do the trick.
Are these drives considered very reliable? Will be interesting if I can get mine to work.

I have the CM205 single speed drive & CM250 card - I got the CM205 in a junk lot from someone and the CM250 was bought specifically to use with it. Didn't have a cable either and just used a generic straight cable with the correct # of pins.

I got the software from the mpoli bbs and that worked on the little 386 I tested it on: Re: Where do you attach your CD-ROM?

Mine is a non-motorised tray so it's not the same as yours but once the drivers were loaded it worked fine, so they're pretty reliable with my 1 of 1 sample size. I think I checked out the inside at some point and unlike my Toshiba XM-3301 drive which needed every cap replaced, this drive didn't have any bad caps.
