Did you try to run RTCW on Celeron rig? It should be far more enjoyable for sure because it needs fast CPU while graphic card doesn't matter that much. 😀

I remember playing it soon after release on my Duron 700 with 128 MB RAM and slightly overclocked Riva TNT1 card. And it was pretty nice experience in 640x480 16b with just some light swapping.
Friend of mine run it on Celeron 466 / BX / 128 MB RAM / GF2 MX and it worked significantly worse albeit it was still playable.
