Re-install the game WITHIN dosbox, and configure it accordingly.
If it still results in the same error, post the exact instructions you used
for mounting/installation, as well as how you're starting the game.

The game is corrupted. I tested it on my 386 and I got read error three times on disk 5 when trying to install. On the fourth time the installation was successful, but the game crashed when the night came. I don't know why the downloaded version crashed also, but I definetly need to get a new copy of this game or play with no sound 🙁

Thanks for everyone trying to help me.

edit:I can't install it within dosbox, because I don't have floppy drive in this computer. So I had to install in another computer and then copy all the files to this one.

You can always install DOSBox on that 2nd computer. You don't even have to "install" DOSBox. Just copy the files from the ProgramFiles folder to the other machine.

Not really much need to install it in DOSBox. Paths are not a consideration. The game uses no external resources, i.e. CD. There are only two things that the install needs to do (besides copying the files to the HDD). As I posted earlier, it needs to concatenate the resource file, which should work in the NTVDM, and select the audio hardware, which can be done by manually editing the RESOURCE.CFG file.

All he really needs is to get the files from the floppies to the PC's HDD. There are external USB floppy drives that can be of use, here. Now if there was an external USB 5.25" floppy drive for archiving old game floppies...

I don't know exactly why, but the game works fine now or at least iits first night and the game hasn't crashed yet. For some reason after I deleted all the old save games and started a new game it started working. If I started a new game with the old savegames there it crashed.
Again thanks for everyone trying to help me 😀

edit:The save games were saved with different sound settings than I was using. With the original installation settings on (pc speaker for music and sound none) it worked fine in windows. Maybe it had something to do with that. It shouldn't effect the savegames anyway, but I don't have any other theory why it didn't work before and works now.
