can't you tell me in human language what the difference is?

It's a completely different codebase, with the same target of emulating opl2/3.

Where is the SB16 emulator?

There's none. There's an adlib (opl2) emulator, and searching the page for
words like "emulator" does wonders.

oh ok!
What's your personal opinion: do you think 'old', 'fast' or 'compat' is the best opl emulator, if you say your personal favorite one? I mean by looking at accuracy of the emulated sound.

fast is by far the preferrable as it's really fast.
