DirectX for voodoo 3? Ehm... The version would be DirectX 7, but you really do not want to run DirectX on V3. Really. On Voodoo 1 even less.
If you insist, install directX 8.1 or 9 and then install the voodoo 3 drivers; it should work I guess.
Voodoo3 is DirectX 6. DirectX 7 is for hardware T&L which the Voodoo3 does not have.
Also, DirectX 9 is not available for any Win9.x OS. You need WinXP for that at the very least.

That is wrong actually. DirectX 9c is available for Win98SE.

Check the system requirements.
"Supported operating systems: Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Professional Edition , Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Service Pack 2, Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows XP Home Edition , Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 1"
The last version for Windows 95 was DX 8.0, so I think that's where the confusion is coming in.

Yes. The first version w/o 5V cards compatibility is 2.3.
Hmm, always thought #8 was the last for Win9.x. Whoops, My bad 😁

8.0a was the last for 95 iirc.

Voodoo 1 not working
on motherboards Shuttle AV18E and ASUS TUSL-2C
On Pentium 1 motherboard Voodoo 1 good working
I put V1 + V3 in same pc recently. Works OK except when i am running games that are using V1 i got strange distortion line coming down screen (top to bottom) every 2 sec? When i unplug short VGA cable from V3 it disappears. That only happens when V3 is in PC, when i put different 2D card besides V1 games run fine on V1...
oh i forgot, games also run fine on V3 through loop cable on V1. So really strange thing here?

Hate to necro this. Drop the FSB to something under 100MHz. I got the same distortion issue until I ran 66~100MHz FSB.

The Build engine games like Blood and Shadow Warrior that have 3DFX versions are really picky about running on anything non-V1 or V2. I have gotten them to work with environment variable tweaking on later 3DFX hardware, but I assume it probably runs better on the original intended card.
My personal experience: Shadow Warrior works with a single Voodoo 2, never managed to run it with 2xV2 SLI.
Y2K box: AMD Athlon K75 (second generation slot A)@700, ASUS K7M motherboard, 256 MB SDRAM, ATI Radeon 7500+2xVoodoo2 in SLI, SB Live! 5.1, VIA USB 2.0 PCI card, 40 GB Seagate HDD.
WIP: external midi module based on NEC wavetable (Yamaha clone)
I could run Shadow Warrior on V2 SLI back when I had a Pentium II and I still run it on my B&W PowerMac.

Decrease FSB to 66Mhz
from the bios right?... i will try, but my pentium 3 can work always at 800 mhz?
I installed a V3000-AGP and a MiroHighScore3D (V1) in the same PC.
I am running Win95b and the DX61 Drivers for the Voodoo3.
The Voodoo1 Driver is not installed at Win95b.
How can I manage to run ShadowWarrior, Screamer2, and other DosGildeGames ?
What Files do I need, do I have to create a Batchfile in order to run this and what should I write in it ?
Thx
