You are right, this window is inside "multimedia" not in "device manager". CD audio worked perfect with the option checked and unchecked. Volume is at 100%.

I found some posts about conventional memory, I added this to config.sys:

DEVICE=C:\...\EMM386.EXE X=B800-C7FF I=C800-EFFF I=B000-B7FF RAM

This gave me 571 Kb of conventional memory, now Second reality does not complain about memory and i can leave config.sys to load the cdrom and other drivers 😀.
