Just to help clear the confusion about this "real" IP thing that keeps being mentioned: Many ISPs put customers behind a carrier-grade NAT. To see if this is the case you can check the external IP that your router reports and compare it with the one from a site like https://whatismyipaddress.com/. If they don't match, you are behind such a NAT.
The good news are that most ISPs will assign a real IP for you if you call and say for example that you have a security camera that you want to be able to access, because they are aware of the problems this practice causes.
