Not sure if this will help you, but I grabbed recordings of Dune 2 from my MT-32 and MT-200 (SC-55). MT-32 is first with MT-200 starting about 2:45 in. Of note is the interesting fact that the opening Westwood logo is much louder on the MT-32 than it is on the MT-200, but most of the MT-200 intro tends to be a louder over the MT-32. Differences in how their amplitudes were set between the songs. Also the stereo and reverb is much stronger on the MT-32 as opposed to the GM. Likely because not all GM devices featured all the various reverb and delay that the Roland SC devices did.

They were both recorded at 24-bit/96khz stereo and this was maintained when I converted the comparison to flac format.

Thanks, CrossBow777. Sounds great! Not sure why I can't get Dune 2 playing normally. I'm guessing maybe an issue with the Midiman. I know it has compatibility issues with Legend games, maybe this is another quirk with it.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.
