Fit of everything on the latest revised panel. Drives aren't screwed in for the picture, but they have perfect alignment when screwed in, with minimal gaps to account for various manufacturers that deviate by +/- 1mm from the standard.

Fixed the PC Chips M326 v5.2 386 board yesterday. I think this one is going in another spare AT case I have laying around so I can keep the 3D printed case smaller with a 486 SBC.

Had to replace the AT power connector since the 12V was corroded badly from the varta battery. Fixed some traces in that area, fixed another trace over by the 74F244N chip, and replaced the corroded AT keyboard connector.

Any plans of reworking the STLs for those of us w/smaller 3D printers like Flashforge Adventurer 3/Monoprice MP Voxel (150x150x150mm).

Not really sure what you could do on 150x150.. Maybe a 3.5" drive or two as your drive bays for a SBC style case. I don't have time to make completely new files to accommodate that, but the design files for the original stuff is all in this thread so you are free to edit them.

Hmm the faceplate is just a tad over 275mm. That's bigger than the build volume of the Adventurer 4 (220 x 200 x 250mm) I was considering purchasing next. I might just try to rework the original instead.

Picked up a FlashForge Guider II and some Inland PLA+ Bone White. Looks like this will be a 90+ hour print at 0.08mm at 100% infill. Wish me luck 😁

Great design, you've really caught the spirit of those old 386 white box cases 😀

Regarding the earlier discussion of surface finish, check out your slicer's "ironing" feature if available. It'll take a few hours more to finish the print, but it can really do wonders on flat surfaces.

Good luck! You might want to do some smaller prints to get an opportunity to get to know and tune the printer before taking on larger projects like this though. Or if you're too impatient for that, at least begin with the smaller parts 😀

I have maybe 1000s of hours 3d print experience so I'm getting better at it. 😁 The 90+ hour print time will be my 2nd longest print project.

Tweaked my slicer settings and got it down to 67.5 hours print time at 50% infill.

I'm considering printing a U-shaped mobo tray (case, really) but I think I need some of those square nuts to test fit with some card board first. I kind want to do a modern case window to show off the internals w/out having to remove the side panel.

I'm just using the cube mounts. Might do a clear plexi side window.

I drew up a quick u-shape case that mounts to the cube mounts.. we'll see how it fits once it is done printing. I already realized one slight screw up in the mounting hole positions, but they can just be filed easily. I'll fix them in the Sketchup/STL file once I see how everything fits. Should be done printing tomorrow night 🤣. This will be my tallest print, at 275mm. Hopefully no spaghetti since it is like half a roll of filament. Haha
