Any ideas why our transfer speeds look so different? Because of driver? Seems weird that it isn’t a nice parabola like repoman’s

Oldest OS driver I found was for Win2000..... so close but yet so far 😁

I tried my Promise S150 TX2 in the TXP4. The performance was close enough that I put the Sil3114 SATA back in - this is one of the two motherboards I have that the Sil3114 will work properly with, while the S150 has been less picky about what motherboard I use it in. The Sil3114 has a slight edge in read speed while the S150 is significantly better when it comes to write speed.

Think it’s your fsb that is giving you the edge? Can you try k6-3+ 66x6? On a 430hx so I can compare to my tyan. If still faster, then it prob is driver

Okay. This is with the Sil3114 and a Crucial BX 120 gig SSD.

🧐 okay so that does have something to do with it. It seems we have similar peaks but you have much more area under the curve. Driver?
