Came back to this because I am currently checking OS2 2.0 on Pentium 60 32MB.
What soundcard does work on OS2 2.0!

I have a Sound Blaster 16 (CT2230) in my rig working with OS/2 2.0. I installed MMPM/2 with the included SB16 drivers, then I copied the Creative driver files Version 2.2 over the ones installed with MMPM/2. I also updated the CONFIG.SYS and MMPM2.INI per the README.TXT that came with the drivers.

The PicoGUS (or an original GUS for that matter) might also work. The Manley drivers say they support OS/2 2.x, but I've only tested my PicoGUS v2 with OS/2 Warp v3.0. Now I want to try it with OS/2 v2.0 if I can find the time this weekend.

I've found that the Manley GUS drivers support SoundFX and .MOD file playback. Unfortunately, the wavetable isn't supported for MIDI playback. The Manley drivers support external MIDI playback, but I don't know if that works with the PicoGUS (I hadn't tried it) since the MPU-401 interface isn't enabled by default to my knowledge.

I'd still prefer a SB16 since it provides OPL3 and external MIDI playback using an attached X2GS in my case.

Yes. My first post in this thread explains what I did to get sound working.

I just tried to install the Manley GUS drivers in OS/2 v2.0, and they didn't work. The MMPM/2 Installer failed to modify the MMPM2.INI and CONFIG.SYS files for the GUS. I might be able to manually install the GUS drivers, but I don't have time today.

I figured out how to get my PicoGUS working in OS/2 v2.0 (sort of). I had to manually edit CONFIG.SYS to call the Manley drivers. I also had to manually add entries for the GUS in my MMPM2.INI (I installed the GUS drivers in OS/2 Warp v4, then copied it's MMPM2.INI file over to my OS/2 v2.0 drive).

Digital audio works for system sound effects, but the Digital Audio Player that comes with OS/2 complains about the GUS playback sample rate and doesn't load the sound for playback. This might be a known issue.

On the other hand, .MOD files play back correctly through the GUS using the ULTIMOD program for some fun tunes. The GUS also seems to play well with my Sound Blaster so I can route the line-out from the PicoGUS through the SB16's line-in.

I made an attempt to install 2.11 CD on my P60...but I can't get it right. The version that I got never loads the driver for the 2940uw controller where the external SCSI-CDROM is connected to. copying the installation files to harddisk (external fat16 logical partition) did not work in the first place. The 2.11 installer still asks for Disk2 in the floppydrive instead loading the content from harddisk. I think I messed up the file that points to the location...
