The IBM-equipped Mobo aand the VLB video cards (and another Cirrus GD5401 I hadn't tested) work, the Micron motherboard (PCCHIPS chips) doesn't yet, red LED on the mobo lights up but I don't get any video. Need to dig out a speaker with the right connector, out of time.

They have very similar speed... at vga the 805 is faster, at vesa modes the cirrus. If you want faster, choose the w32p or the vision864. The ark is the fastest at vga modes.

Those Shuttle HOT-613 boards are solid boards. Just got done installing Windows 98SE on one with a 200/256K CPU and 128MB EDO RAM and playing Earthsiege 2 on it.

Picked up some gateway speakers at goodwill for $5 tonight and they sound quite good.

Unless I'm mistaken two of them are the legendary P55T2P4 (the ones with funny brown Mediabus 2.0 connector in front of the bottom PCI slot), which are more interesting than most AGP-bearing SS7 boards.

Indeed, although the completely missing socket on the board to the left of the P2B-DS will be more challenging.

I also like the 3Com ISA NICs, the 16b ISA CDRom interface with audio-out on the back (you can abuse those nice IEC connectors for your soundcard too 😉 ) and Matrox Mysique. Wonder what all those blue things are with PCIe1x connectors scattered all over...

i wonder where i would find those style IO shields like what's on the Shuttle HOT 613, my Intel Advanced/ML 430hx ATX board has the same port layout and i wanna know if there are IO shields for that port layout available, it looks a bit like [\_/ O O \___/ \_/] <from left to right> (COM1, PS/2, PS/2, LPT, COM2)

Nowadays you can make something like that on a 3D printer.

It has apparently suffered a broken cap (that apparently also tore out the solder pad) at some point, and someone fixed it like this:

Not pretty but seller assures me it works, and if it really does I'm OK with it. I will go ahead and test it tonight.

Yes, good observation 😎 The photo was only available in low-res, I have upscaled it to sse something. Also asked about these blue things, will report. I also like these CDROm-controllers. In case its an IDE you can also use it together with XT-IDE to get your system booted.
