Could you add some folders for networking and/or SCSI drivers? They're hard to find...
I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...

Damn good idea!
If we could recreate the whole driver set for 3COM and their network cards that would be a godsend. Hard as hell and PIA to find those drivers after they were bought by HP.
I've added the JavaScript folding menu to the main site. We kinda need it now with the huge number of categories on offer... (YAY!! 😁)
If you have JS disabled, or are using a non-JS-friendly browser, the classic menu should still appear.

Fixed a stupid error with the new menu. Sorry if anyone saw the "Something's not right" message. 🙁

http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=339
and
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=594
seem to be dupes in different categories, not sure what the best fix is.
[EDIT]
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=108
and
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=572
also are clones (minus a GID file Putas accidentally generated), should be the same version - Chromatic Mpact 2 W9x (1.12.2.2.2.7)
[EDIT2]

and

while I'm at it!
[EDIT3]
3Dlabs is spelled with a lowercase 'l', at least in the 90's. 😀

BTW, is it smart for people to be uploading in 7zip format? Saves space, but I wouldn't call it retro-friendly necessarily...

I'm using 7zip on a my Win98se machine, works perfect.
As for the dupes; in my opinion, the "VGA drivers + Windows xy" category should go.
Drivers should be listed under the device type (3D Accelerators) and manufacturer with a reference to the OS in the title.

I don't mind tbh. I normally extract the files on my main system and then transfer the files uncompressed. Uncompressing a 50MB ZIP file on a Pentium 100 takes ages, so I rather just transfer 100MB uncompressed 😀

Okay, good to know.

There's definitely some confusion "VGA drivers" vs "3D Accelerators" between VOGONSDrivers' various uploaders.
Back in the day, "3D Accelerator" would have meant "without 2D chips", meaning that they required a 2D VGA card to run, such as original Voodoo Graphics/Voodoo2.
But at the same time, the folder structure we've set up in "3D Accelerators" refers to cards that have both 2D and 3D chips.
Should "VGA drivers" refer only to early cards that do not provide 3D acceleration? If so, then there's many drivers that need to be moved.

Maybe just a Graphics category with company subcategories and put all graphics drivers in there?

This sounds like the most straightforward approach. I'll get stuck in to it later tonight, including cleaning up the dupes.
Edit: I cleaned up the dupes mentioned earlier, renamed "3D Accelerators" to "Graphics" and started moving some of the files out. I'll continue on it tomorrow. 😵
Also, I created a new category for Tseng Labs already, just let me know if any more are needed (I suspect some of those Diamond cards will go in to S3, 3Dfx, etc).

OK, I've reduced the size of the "VGA Drivers" category a lot, still some to go that will need new categories added.
I noticed that there are a heap of files with no useful descriptions, it would be pretty great to get those fixed, especially for files like this one where it isn't really clear what it is.
Here's a Google Docs spreadsheet of all the files with no effective description. Most of them are probably fine because the name is self-explanatory, but some like the above file, or "Video Seven" or "Oak Drivers" could do with a but more fleshing out.

I'll do what I can, but anyone with an account can help!

Please make a Turtle Beach subcategory in sound drivers and move Turtle Beach stuff there. I will upload more soon.

I have noticed I linked one of my uploads into the wrong category.
Adaptec AHA-1542CF BIOS v2.11 in> motherboard files
Please relocate this to SCSI.
I will take better care next time - yet if there is a way for a normal user to amend this sort of problem (other than delete and re-upload, please tell...)
Thanks!

Just edit the file and change the category. It's a drop-down list underneath the "Title" box.

I'm thinking about showing ads to people that arrive from clicking Google search links.
People that just go directly to www.vogonsdrivers.com, or click a link here or somewhere else would not see ads.
Thoughts?
