Found a Dell 2001FP close to home. It's from januari 2016, so no 15kHz support, but since I don't own anything Amiga (yet) I don't mind. Still much much better than I had before and in great shape. And it was 10 euro so could not leave it there 😀

2016? Anyway, pretty much anything 1600x1200 LCD gets grabbed in my book. They will be more and more sought after as the years progress and they can be had fairly cheap in the wild still and are fantastic for 4:3 gaming. I have that 20" IBM model you will have to pry my cold dead hands off of before I let it go. There is one more 2001FP I know of in my local area, but unfortunately it has some permanent finger smudges on it. I left it behind.

I tried to buy a abit Ic7MaxII the other day, but the sellers eBay account is all whacked up. The listing said he could take credit cards but the check out says the seller does not take credit cards 😕 So I tried PayPal. Well PayPal kept denying the payment and now eBay does not even give me the option to pay. 😵 So no ic7 for me. 😢 No word form the seller ether 🙁

Got some Christmas cash from family members so decided to order a retro hardware Christmas present for myself -

An Atari 2600 Jr. Console, plus 12 Games & a Joystick.

I never owned any Atari systems back in the day, so my first introduction to the games was via an unlicensed clone system called the "TV Boy" back in the early 1990s. Since then I've played a little with emulation, but now it's certainly long past time that I bought a real one for myself. I'm just going to stick with the 12 games for now as I'll pruchase either a Harmony Encore or UNO-2600 flash cartridge for it at some point next year.

Not retro hardware, but another retro related purchase for Christmas - I bought the ZZap! 64 2020 Annual. A bit of nostalgia for the old magazines (though I was more of a Commodore Format fan), plus should be interesting reading about the newer games available for the Commodore 64.

immediately got the battery amputation treatment, there doesn't seem to be too much damage 😀

and then this "little" gem, an external drive enclosure in the style of an IBM XT case that almost didn't make it to me as it got shipped to the wrong adress first unfortunately.

Picked up a NOS PSU for my 1999 AMD rig with the notoriously-finicky FIC SD-11: an Enermax EG495AX-VE(W) 485W. Around the end of '99, what every PSU on AMD's recommended PSU list had in common was about 30A on the 5V line. Although this PSU is from the later Prescott/64FX era, it still sits at 32A for the 5V.

Early readings are excellent for a ~15-year-old PSU:

Agreed. The C is much cheaper, but I very much prefer the breadbin. Adrian Black's Youtube channel was an inspiration. I only got a clone datasette with it and I want to get a safe power supply for it. And then probably more...

Adrian black, GadgetUK and Jan Beta. All deliver good content. GadgetUK have a bunch on Acorns on the bench these days. 😉
There is a seller from Poland that sells these black PSU's for C64. They come with and without power for Disk drives.

Retro computer shack makes the (possible) best AV cables for all sort of machines. And if you want the best option for modern diskette replacements, then you need to get a PI-1541 solution. For use on modern TV's, then it is a good idea to get a Lumafix if the machine gives the jailbars/spaghetti lines.

Thanks for all the tips! I will look into it. I was thinking to hook it up to my Dell 2001fp for now. PI-1541 looks like a nice solution! I have a RPi 3 laying around so I'll just need to get the parts for the cable. (and heatsinks, new caps, etc, etc, etc 😉)

Got this VLB card. After testing It turns out to be my fastest VLB card yet. Especially in Windows. In DOS all decent cards performs about the same.

My parner does her best to discourage my old hardware stuff, fat chance of me getting something like this from her. Still, got a Herman Miller Aeron chair from her for my 40th, so more than enough reason to enter a registered partnership, even if she does begrudge me my Ms and the F battleship 😜
