Wow so much cool stuff!
That will be a Hires DOS / Windows gaming beast!
Wasn't the plan to spend less on retro hardware this year 🤣
PS: Regarding the RAP-10. While I shoot my "Playing GOG.com games on a real MS-DOS Gaming PC videos" I'm finding more and more games with native support for the RAP-10 😀 I wonder how the digital part sounds compared to a Sound Blaster. Games to try are Wing Commander III, Descent 1 and Descent 2, Screamer 1 and Screamer 2.
Ahh well.. you know how it goes. 😀 I am being more selective this year.. really going after the things I've wanted for a long time but haven't found. Just so happens that a lot of this stuff showed up at once. Not cheap in most cases (although some surprisingly cheap!), but at least the holes in my spreadsheet of parts are filling up.
And of course I blame you and your awesome videos for my new obsession with these time machine builds. 😜

Bought another cmi8738 soundcards for FM playing. they were reasonably cheap and I bought them all.
The seller claims he is selling a "Genius" branded soundcards and sent a driver CD, too. But it was not.
The card was actually SAB-5200E and commonly bundled in Samsung's Desktop PC. Quiet heavy one that it looks.

The datasheet says ES1990 has Legacy audio and support both EAX and A3D.
I should tries on this in weekends and how this do pityful FM sounds and other things.
Man that was fast shipping!!!
Yes thanks for the M3D, looking forward to trying it this weekend 😀
@artex
Wow, what a haul! I hate to rain on the parade, but those COZ vertex ssd drives are horrible. I used them as boot drives in my main system, I had to RMA a total of six drives in 3 years. Honestly, get your money back now and buy something else.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

You must have been unlucky as I've used two Vertex drives as raid 0 in my main system from 2009 to 2013 (now I'm using them in my 440BX and Compaq). No problems. Also his drives will be in a retro computer, so I'm certain his drives will have much lower "wear and tear" compared to using them in a modern system.
It wasn't just me. A lot of other people had issues with them. The 30g vertex 2 is probably a contributing factor in OCZ's recent bankruptcy and sale. Talked to the customer reps and several claimed that the vast majority of returns were those 30g drives. After the 3rd pair I received, they sent me newer 40g drives. Which I sold on Craig's list and bought sata3 corsair drives.

Well gents.. It seems you may be right.. One of my two 30GB Vertex Turbos died last night after installing Windows 98. I rebooted and it could not find the OS. After booting from my Win98SE boot disk, I could see the the drive was completely corrupted with garbage characters instead of directory & file names. I fired up Super FDISK which reported all kinds of problems as well. Unfortunately, removing the partition & MBR and re-creating them seemed to make no difference. The drive is just jacked..
It's a shame since I've been running my OCZ Vertex2 120GB (the earlier version before they switched NAND) as my boot drive in my main PC for years. At least these 30GB drivers were cheap and I'm not out too much $$$.. I guess I'll have to find something else. Any specific model recommendations for 30-40GB SATA I/II SSDs?

That's what makes it so sad! They are great drives when they work. As for replacements, I can't say for sure, but if it was me I'd choose a reputable brand. corsair seem to be king of the hill as of the last few years.

I know!! I don't think I'd buy another OCZ drive given all these issues people were having with the later generation NAND Vertex 2's - even IF Toshiba rights their wrongs. The price was hard to pass up - I guess I learned my lesson. NewEgg has some Corsair SATA II/III 30/60GB drives - wonder how these stack up.
$60 - Corsair Nova Series 2 CSSD-V30GB2A 2.5" 30GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
$74 - Corsair Force LS Series CSSD-F60GBLS 2.5" 60GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

funny you should ask! I'm 90% sure I bought #2 on your list there.
I have 4x corsair 60gb drives in a stripe raid, sadly I found out my onboard controller was only 300mb/s not 600 like I wanted. but you can see the performance right next to my 4x 640gb array, which I use for games/ video editing/ etc. I get my tax refund in a month or so, and I'm considering buying a sata3 raid controller... ^.^

Artex,stop buying stuff for a while 😀
If you got any Seagate drives, use the 32GB SeaTools trick. It turns large SATA drives into 32GB drives and you are set. To save money / stop spending more try to work with the items you already have 😀
And even without that 32GB trick, you can use large SATA drives through PCI SATA controllers just fine. Just stick with a single 32GB FAT32 partition.
I popped in my second OCZ Vertex Turbo and found that the culprit doesn't appear to be the drive itself. It happens AFTER I apply the Unofficial SP3 for Windows 98SE. Not sure what it's doing at this point to completely hose the MBR, but I do know that the update works fine on spindle drives.

Think that's hot? I'm only getting HALF the speed I should be! Using an ssd on anything pre-pcie is kinda a waste. I have spinning sata drives that can completely saturate the old pci bus. I get the for free also!

Six of those processor tray holders, to stack my from socket 7 processors so they wont damage.
UM8498F motherboard, need it to copy the bios. And want to know how to assemble the VR on my other UM8498F board.
I think i have to pay customs fee for this.. But iam not that poor luckly.
One AMD 486 DX4 100 VS8B (write back)
One AMD 486 DX4 100 V8T (write trough)
One AMD 486 DX2 80 V8T (write trough)
One AMD 386 DX 40
( now i have two of those)
Everex EV-165 EMS board. I have the drivers here, but hadnt the card.. Now should i have both.
