Bought these last weekend for very little from a thrift store. A Panasonic LK-MC608S 8x SCSI external CDROM and a Datacomp DFK-777NA keyboard. The KB works great and has Alps Blue switches AND an AT/XT switch on the back (for a breakdown check this: https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?t=14311), did not take much to clean it up. The Pana box is very dirty/corroded on the back connector area but inside is spotless but have not tested it yet.

edit: missed typed 🙁

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Does that adapter work without drivers in DOS out of the box? I cannot fathom it would.

Interesting. Nearly identical. (The lower SCSI is missing because it was removed. This has been a project box a few times.)

No, some TSR "ng.exe" necessary. And not all games support it. Confirmed support games:

Doom
IndyCar I, II
Aces over Europe
Descent
Mig-29
Falcon 3.02
Fleet Defender
Tie Fighter
Flight Simulator
X-Wing
Wing Commander III, IV
Blake Stone
Fighter Duel
System Shock

I inquired about getting these in this thread last week, well, here they are in my possession:

OPTi-495-SLC-Am386-DX-40.jpg
Does anyone know the make/model of this? I will be removing the battery immediately tonight..

AMD-Am5x86-P75.jpg
Last week I got a Cx5x86, this week I got an Am5x86 - I never thought I would have these CPUs but now my CPU collection is basically complete I would say. If there is one thing I am short on it is more Cx6x86(MX) stuff, but I can live without them.

My reaction exactly. Until someone corrected me and pointed out it's just a keyboard controller. It's an AWARD BIOS.

I'm so dissapointed (in myself 😉)

got these two today :3

hardware36_01.jpg
hardware36_02.jpg

Dolch PAC 64

was sold "not working"... but I mainly wanted it for the case and keyboard anyways, thinking of putting a nice retro system inside.
the case seems to be in a more or less good shape, the drive bay cover is missing unfortunately and the spacebar is a bit "bent", if I can't fix it I should be able to find a Dolch spacebar as they make them specifically in this style and it is a nice MX blue keyboard.

and then there was this one:

I just played the lottery on ebay... bought a meh condition luggable computer for not even that cheap... but there was a picture of the bootscreen:

ebay01.jpg

wish me luck ^^

hardware36_03.jpg

this one is in a worse state, the back cover mounts are broken (though that was visible in the sellers pictures) but the keyboard is also missing it's folding feet and two keys broke off at the stem during shipping because the keyboard wasn't fixed to the machine, those poor ALPS double shot keycaps 🙁 there was no picture of the back of the keyboard so I didn't know about the missing feet.

fortunately though the boot screen did not lie... and it is in there indeed

hardware36_04.jpg

my first socket 8 board :3

but I'm really not lucky with shipping damage lately 😒

A Pentium pro luggable? Holy crap, that's rad ! Though that sucks that it got damaged in shipping 🙁

Proud owner of a Shuttle HOT-555A 430VX motherboard and two wonderful retro laptops, namely a Compaq Armada 1700 [nonfunctional] and a HP Omnibook XE3-GC [fully working :p]

Looks a lot like this one (although your BIOS is AWARD, not AMI):

There's no such thing 🤣

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

You can come very close to it. 😉

The necessary amount of CPUs in a collection to make it complete is N+1, where N is the amount of CPUs currently in the collection.

New old stock, zero hour CRT.

You've got to love the beige & silver front 😀

I was lucky because 1) it was advertised as a LCD and I was the first one to contact, 2) it was cheap and 3) seller wanted to ship it.
